I made this for a design a "Dark Crystal" creature contest. From the 1980's movie by Jim Henson. I won Honorable Mention and I even received a signed note from Jim Henson's daughter Lisa Henson.

This is a huge playset I worked on with the Four Horsemen Design Studios for Mattel's line of Masters of the Universe. Because we were in a hurry I initially hand sculpted "Snake Mountain" in clay. Then we digitally scanned that sculpture in and cleaned it up digitally. I still have the hand made model I sculpted along with the final playset . It is huge, 3ft x 3ft!

Original 80's Toy Line - 2" Diecast figures
In the 80's their was a toy line called Eagle Force. My friends at Fresh Monkey Fiction bought the license and to remake the toy line as a modern "G.I. Joe" type line of figures. Their plan was to re-create and update all the vintage characters and some of the ones that were never made!
One of those characters was "Pancho" a Mexican-American soldier. When I asked them if they were going to make him they said NO. They did not think it would be appropriate now days.
So I said:
"What if I design it and sculpt it? Then it would a Mexican-American made by a Mexican-American."
They loved the idea! And of course I had to make him look like the best looking Mexican-American I know!
I also changed the name from Pancho to El Toro, no way I was going to be Pancho!
I have permission to show off the prototype and maybe a few figures and artwork that will be used in the packaging and comic.

AMIGO Toys LLC.
Last year I started a toy company called AMIGO Toys. The plan it to tool (Manufacture) my own toys. I already have a toy line designed and are now working on the financials to hopefully begin production this year.
I have some casts of previous toys I could sell at the show but I was thinking for AMIGO Toys first project we could make a "DIY" art figure. He is inspired by the Amigo Man that is such an iconic symbol of our city.
( I am open to other ideas on what it could be based on)
The figure would be blank so artists could use it as their canvas. With the idea being that at a later day we could have another art show to exhibit the painted figures. We could give one to selected artists so they can paint them. Maybe auction them off after? The general public will also be allowed to buy one. With the possibility that they could also be included in the art show later on. We can figure out the logistics later. But it gives the the Toy show a nice hook and a fun way to promote the show and the venue!
